Welcome to the beautiful state of Chiapas! In today's Mexico vlog we travel to Chiapas, Mexico and kick off our trip with something truly incredible- the Sumidero Canyon (Cañon Sumidero). The Cañon Sumidero seems to be on every Mexican's bucket list and for good reason! The highest cliffs above the river stand over 1000 meters high! We booked the tour through our hotel (in Chiapa de Corzo) and paid 250 pesos per person. From what we could see at the actual boat area- this was the same price they charged if you walked or took a taxi to the tour area. However, it seems like it may be a better idea to stay in San Cristobal de las Casas and take a tour from there instead. From San Cristobal you can add on the option to see the miradores (lookout spots) above the canyon for a reasonable price.
