I’ve been perfecting these tape delays over the last year and have amassed enough units and components to manufacture about 30 of these bad boys. So rad to have the option to switch between tape types and do tape whips with an expression pedal. Each and every unit has its own character and charm which is exactly what you want out of tape. Some of them I meticulously detail and re-lubricate to get as long of a delay time as possible but some of the better sounding juicy ones I just can’t bring myself to sterilize. I do replace all of the belts on every unit because most that I find are on the brink of turning to tar. Sorry about the audio on this video, I forgot to turn off the air purifier right behind me and you can hear it the whole video. I wasn’t about to redo that whole 10 min single take though. One and done. Send it. Please ask me all the questions. I’m a total open book and love to share. These wouldn’t be possible without the help and advice of those that have pioneered these before me. I pieced together the best features I could from the advice I could get and the knowledge I had. (Thanks JHS circuit streams, learned so much) If you’re curious about ordering one I sell them on reverb though I am not listing them quite yet as I’d like to get at least 20 of em made prior to trying to sell em. Make em first. Then market em. Then sell em. Plus I want to get all of the cases cut and etched at the same time and needed to settle on the perfect layout. None of this ever would have happened without @vvundertone and I’m honored to give him his flowers. He launched my spiral into vintage gear and without his videos, I don’t think I would have ever met one of my now best friends who was the one that sold me my first PMD 221, and the rest is history. I now fix and resell vintage audio gear as my career and I love it. It’s all very kismet. Thanks Dustyn
