Time to replace the VW beetle shift coupler in Eleanore, the 1956 VW Beetle! While I was at it I also replace VW Shift Bushing! I discovered that the VW shift coupler couldn't be installed, and that the rear torsion bar adjusters would take up the space where it should be. So I pulled out the VW rear torsion bars the easy way. and re-indexed the torsion bars in minutes. It took longer to describe what I was doing than to do the work. ⚫ TOOLS AND PARTS IN THIS VIDEO ⚫ Shift Coupler (late) ▶ https://amzn.to/2UYb9m1 Shift Coupler (early) ▶ https://amzn.to/2tjLVCG Shift Bushing ▶ https://amzn.to/2E6CfBJ Safety Wire Pliers ▶ https://amzn.to/2DtsaND Shifter Plate ▶ https://amzn.to/2TK7esN Moly Grease ▶ https://amzn.to/2DAOJAe After installing the Porsche 944 torsion bars with Porsche 944 spring plates and Porsche 944 trailing arms with Porshe 944 brakes on my 1956 VW Beetle oval window I knew I wanted more adjustability in rear torsion bar suspension. It would be nice to make VW Beetle torsion bar adjustments on the fly to change the VW Beetle ride height, from stock ride height to slammed and back. I don't like airbags or hydraulics because they leak, so this is the beginning of my custom torsion bar adjustment and ride height management system that will function without taking anything apart. I loaded the VW Beetle floor pan on the VW Beetle rotisserie and began to cut out the torsion tube center and got to mounting the new torsion baadjuster. This 1956 VW Beetle I received after it spent over 10 years out in the weather after being completely submerged in sea water by Hurricane Ivan back in 2004. This car was almost completely destroyed. If you've followed the ROTTEN OLD 1956 Chop Top Oval VW Beetle series you will have seen just how bad this car was when I began this VW Beetle restoration project. There was no saving it, as it would never be perfect again... so instead I rebuilt it to my own specifications so I could have the VW Beetle the way I wanted since I was a kid. ⚫ DUCKMANCYCLES FACEBOOK GROUP ⚫ JOIN THE DISCUSSION ▶ / duckmancycles ⚫ FOLLOW MY SOCIAL MEDIA ⚫ FACEBOOK ▶ / duckmancycles INSTAGRAM ▶ / vvtheduckvv TWITTER ▶ / vvtheduckvv ⚫ MY WEBPAGE ⚫ GET EARLY ACCESS TO VIDEOS AND MORE: http://duckshit.net ⚫ SUBSCRIBE TO MY OTHER CHANNELS ⚫ SkeeterTheDuck ▶ / skeetertheduck VvTheDuckvV ▶ / vvtheduckvv DuckmanCycles ▶ / duckmancycles Theme song (Gearhead) by Kevin MacLeod/Incompetech.com
