In this episode of CNTV News, Brad and Quin connect with Chickasaw speed climber Declan Calfy. Declan began climbing at just 7 years old, working hard since then to become the athlete he is today. The Norman-based teen travels the world to compete, even going as far as South Korea for the Youth Speed Climbing World Championships. Declan's climbing record is a quick 5.7 seconds – just one second away from the world record. "It's exciting when you see your goals being accomplished and you make progress," Declan says. Storytelling has always been important in Chickasaw culture, ensuring stories are passed down to future generations. The Hapononka' Story Sharing Circle honors the tradition of storytelling and provides a space for connection to each other and Chickasaw culture. In a future episode of CNTV News, Brad and Quin discuss Laura's award-winning career. Brad and Quin reconnect with accomplished cliff diver Kaylea Arnett. Kaylea traveled the world for the Red Bull Cliff Diving World Series, competing in Italy, Canada, Australia and Bahrain. She won silver and bronze medals in her first season, success that allows her to participate in another year of competitions and the Cliff Diving World Championships. "I know that I can dive with my heart, especially in those darker times," Kaylea says. "Each dive is its own beautiful piece of art."
