EPISODE 7 - Stackin' & Splittin' Welcome to Episode 7 of our off-grid Newfoundland cottage series; a full, satisfying day that blends nature, firewood preparation, and some dogs on the fire We start by building our second firewood rack, giving us more space to properly store and dry the wood we’ve been cutting over the past few days. Having solid, well-built racks makes a huge difference when living off-grid, especially in a colder climate like Newfoundland. Once the rack is finished, it’s time for some serious work with the electric wood splitter, turning logs into usable firewood quickly and efficiently. There’s something incredibly satisfying about seeing big rounds transformed into neat stacks of ready-to-burn wood. And of course, no good off-grid workday ends without food over an open fire.
