Chai latte, thick Italian hot chocolate and mulled apple cider. ►Full written recipe: https://www.thecookingfoodie.com/reci... ►FOLLOW ME: The Cooking Foodie Shop: https://shop.thecookingfoodie.com/ Instagram: / thecookingfoodie Facebook: / thecookingfoodie Website: https://www.thecookingfoodie.com/ Chai Latte Ingredients: 2 cups (480ml) Water 1 Cinnamon stick 1 teaspoon Whole black peppercorns 1 teaspoon Whole cloves 1 teaspoon Cardamom pods 1 tablespoon Ginger, fresh 2 tablespoons Brown/white sugar 2 bags Black tea 2 cups (480ml) Milk Directions: 1. In a mortar and pestle crush peppercorns, cloves and cardamom. and cinnamon. 2. Place crushed spices and the cinnamon (broken into pieces) in a small sauce pan toast them over medium heat for 1-2 minutes. 3. Pour in the water. Add the ginger an and boil for 5-6 minutes. 4. Add sugar, tea bags and allow to boil for 1 minute. 5. Strain the tea through a fine-mesh strainer. Discard the spices and tea leaves. At this stage you can store the chai in the fridge until ready to use. 6. When ready to drink; heat the milk in a small saucepan. Froth the milk with an immersion blender. 7. Pour the chai into a mug, then pour the hot milk. Garnish with some ground cinnamon (optional). Italian Hot Chocolate 1½ cups (360ml) Milk 1-2 tablespoons Sugar 1 tablespoon (8g) Cocoa powder 4 oz (115g) Dark chocolate (70%) 1-2 tablespoons (7.5-15g) Cornstarch Pinch salt Whipped cream + cocoa powder/chocolate shavings for serving Directions: 1. Chop the chocolate. Set aside. 2. In a small bowl whisk 1/2 milk and cornstarch. Set aside. 3. In a small saucepan place the rest of the milk with sugar, salt and cocoa powder. Bring to a simmer, reduce the heat to low, add the cornstarch mixture, whisk until combined and cook for 3-4 minutes. 4. Add chopped chocolate, turn the heat off and whisk for 2-3 minutes, until completely dissolved and thick. 5. Pour into a mug, garnish with whipped cream and chocolate shavings. Notes: • In this recipe I used only one tablespoon of cornstarch. For a thicker consistency you can use 2 tablespoons. It’s totally up to your preference. • You can control the sweetness of the hot chocolate by adding more or less sugar. Mulled Apple Cider Ingredients: 1L Apple cider/apple juice 1 teaspoon Cloves 1 cinnamon stick 3 Cardamom pods 2 Star anise 1 Orange 1 tablespoon Ginger Directions: 1. In a sauce pan, combine apple cider, cloves, cinnamon stick, cardamom pods, ginger and star anise. 2. Slice the orange and add to the sauce pan. 3. Bring to a boil, reduce the heat to low and simmer for 30 minutes. 4. Serve and enjoy!
