This video is a realistic look at learning how to draw and paint on a part-time basis while working a full-time day job with life responsibilities, and getting started with art later in life (mid 30's). This video documents my slow and gradual progress over 3 years from 2020 to the end of 2023 - with no formal art school, mostly self taught, then taking online classes from mid 2023. The struggle is real and you'll see how slow the progress is, especially trying to self-teach from books and videos with no feedback or guidance from teachers until mid 2023. Interestingly there's a sudden improvement right at the end of 2023 where I gave myself a chance to explore, experiment and apply what I'd been studying and practicing over all of that time. It seems like there's little to no improvement for so long, then some things start to click eventually. I hope this long-form video is interesting and helpful for anyone currently on the art journey or considering starting. I recommend that anyone trying to lean how to draw and paint takes some kind of foundational/fundamental class with a teacher online or in person. I probably could have reached my current skill level in about 1 to 1.5 years if I'd found live online classes with feedback and critique earlier in my journey, so don't make the same mistake I did. I'm not sponsored by any online schools, I just want to save fellow artists some time and frustration. my instagram: @rosco_b_art Christian Nacorda - instagram @christiannacorda Steve Michael Hampton / @stevenmichaelhampton Janos Gerasch / @janos.artzone Marc Brunet / @ytartschool Modern Day James / @moderndayjames Anthony Jones / @robotpencildesign Sinix / @sinixdesign Scott Robertson / @scottrobertsondesign Drawabox / @uncomfortable Online Schools & Classes: Brainstorm School Online https://www.brainstormschool.com PBC https://www.brainstormschool.com/cour...
