The Evangelion Effect: Rise of Anime Copy-Cats

A look at the effect Evangelion had on the Mecha Anime Genre, some series that took inspiration and made something their own, some that failed to be anything more than a mecha copy-cat, and one that wasted all it's potential trying to imitate two of the greatest Mecha Anime of all time. *Editor Note*: While the beginning note of the state of anime, and specifically mecha anime is intentionally brief as not the focus of the video, it does not capture the entire image of mecha. Nor are some of the claims made discrediting previous mecha anime. Though it could be interpreted that way it was not the intent. The concept of comparing mecha anime that came after Eva to Evangelion could have been structured better, which falls upon me as the author.
