This is one of the first rhythms I learnt many years ago and still love it. It has a dance beat to it, which is how I tend to play it. It is a simple rhythm yet when played with well executed timing it can sound powerful. The timing aspect though is subtle. I explain the basics of this rhythm/phrasing. As I mention in the video, Papa Wah is really Kaka Wah or you can just use Ka ah wah; which I often use or Didda Wah. If you use Ka ah instead of Kaka, the ah sound is created by tongue deeper back in throat closing and opening momentarily. Don't get too hung up on the exact word phrasing and perhaps you'll find your own way to word phrase this rhythm that you prefer. Anyway, have fun with it! https://www.johnthorpedidge.com / johnthorpedidge https://johnthorpe.bandcamp.com (My didge music here)
