Unboxing of the Intel Joule. Getting it working on a VGA monitor with USB keyboard and mouse. We hacked a computer power supply to provide the 12v. We got it to boot into Linux. We then tried to install Windows 10 IoT core but failed We went back and flashed the Joule firmware. Windows 10 IoT core installed, and we demo it booting into Windows 10 IoT and show some of the config features of the Joule. Instructions for installing Windows 10 IoT on the joule are here: https://developer.microsoft.com/en-us... From this page you can get all the required instructions including a link to flashing the firmware (if needed). The basic steps to follow are: 1) Get the Joule working with a monitor, keyboard and mouse on its default installation (Linux) 2) If the firmware needs flashing to the version shown in the instructions, then flash it using the special USB cable (provided in the box) and software from the Intel Website. 3) Prepare a bootable flash disk and copy a few files onto it needed to install Windows ioT 4) plug the flash disk into the USB hub connected to the Joule and boot off it then run the command to install Windows 10 IoT. 5) Reboot the joule and setup the Wifi connection using the USB Keyboard and mouse 6) Connect to the Joule over the wifi connection using the browser to the Joule's IP address and port :8080, and change other settings, including the Administrator password from the default "p@ssw0rd" Next: write a program for the Joule using Visual Studio.
