This mix is a tribute to one of my biggest inspirations, Boris Brejcha. It features a selection of some of my favorite Boris tracks, plus a rework of one of his songs by Inner Sanctuary, a talented DJ and producer from St. Pete. Boris’s music has this amazing way of energizing me, with dark, driving bass lines that make you move and breakdowns that are hauntingly beautiful and hit you on a deep, emotional level. Part of the motivation for making this mix—aside from just loving Boris’s music—was to give myself an excuse to play an entire set of his tracks! I play Boris regularly in my sets, so it was fun to go all-in this time. I even wore a Venetian Joker mask for about half the set to really channel the vibe. His music is so unique and innovative that it essentially defines its own genre, High-Tech Minimal, while overlapping with the progressive house and melodic house & techno I love to play.
