‘The Violence of Handwriting Across a Page’ is the title of the exhibition at Kunstmuseum Basel that brings together two of the most popular artists of the twentieth and twenty-first centuries, Louise Bourgeois and Jenny Holzer. The friendship between Bourgeois and Holzer forms the basis of this project, but there is also a parallel in the artists’ use of language and the written word. Curated by Jenny Holzer and Anita Haldemann, the show presents Louise Bourgeois’ work as seen through Jenny Holzer’s eyes. The exhibition runs until May 15, 2022.
