Vice President JD Vance, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, Navy Secretary John Phelan, and Marine Corps Commandant Gen. Eric Smith speak at an event at Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, California, celebrating the Marine Corps' 250th anniversary. The event, "America’s Marines 250: From Sea to Shore — A Review of Amphibious Strength," will feature a live-fire amphibious assault demonstration showcasing Navy and Marine Corps operations across air, land, and sea. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, Secretary of the Navy John Phelan, and Commandant of the Marine Corps General Eric M. Smith are expected to join the Vice President at the celebration. The Marine Corps was founded on Nov. 10, 1775 during the Revolutionary War but was then disbanded at the conclusion of the war. Fifteen years later on July 11, 1798, Congress formally ordered the creation of the Corps as a permanent military service under the Secretary of the Navy. Vance enlisted in the Marine Corps following his high school graduation and is the first Marine to serve as Vice President. Subscribe to LiveNOW from FOX! https://www.youtube.com/livenowfox?su...
