On 26.07.2025, a missing report regarding one Sita Ram (Age 42 years), S/o Ramadhar, R/o a Farm House, Chhattarpur, Delhi, was lodged at PS Mehrauli. During sustained interrogation, the accused confessed to the murder, stating that he had demanded ₹10,000 from Sita Ram and, upon refusal, killed him with a hammer, and dumped the body in the septic tank. The Delhi Police received information about the incident on Saturday. The caller told that Sitaram has been missing for the last several days and no one is able to trace him. Seeing the seriousness of the matter, the police reached the spot as soon as the information was received and a search operation was started in the farm house premises. During the investigation, the police checked the sewer safety tank, from where Sitaram's body was recovered. After this, the police took the body into custody and sent it to AIIMS hospital for post-mortem and informed the family members. Workers around the mini farm house area said that Sitaram was a happy person and was often seen cleaning. He was not seen for the last few days and neither was he able to contact his family, due to which the worried family reached the farm house searching for him. South District DCP Ankit Chauhan has formed several teams for investigation considering the seriousness of this case. Several police teams are searching CCTV footage and Delhi Police is also continuously interrogating the people around. Keeping in mind the possibility of murder, the case is being investigated from every angle. It is being told that Sitaram lived alone in the farm house and the owner used to come only once a week or ten days.
