In this episode, Erin and Beth talk about speckles (a.k.a. small punctae a.k.a. spots a.k.a. sparkles). Beth leads us through several different ways to identify speckles in CellProfiler and explains why (or why not) to use each method. There are lots of biological reasons for identifying speckles/punctae/sparkles including telomeres (a use case for which Beth has a bunch of experience) and in situ sequencing (ISS) (a use case for which Erin has a bunch of experience). #science #openscience #microscopy #tutorial #opensource #biology #imageanalysis #segmentation #cellprofiler ================================================== On Ask Erin/Dear Beth, bioimage analysis experts Beth Cimini and Erin Weisbart, of the Imaging Platform at the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard, answer your image analysis questions!
