Thanks for watching. Please be sure to like and subscribe for more railroading content! The Kendallville Terminal Railway is a 1.1 mile long shortline, that is one of only a few active remnants of the former Grand Rapids & Indiana Railroad (GR&I). The line, now under Patriot Rail ownership, is in great shape compared to some of the sister companies that were under the Pioneer Lines umbrella. As for the locomotive, it's quite the sight to see a former Milwaukee Road engine (blt 4/1959) still in active service. This Pioneer Lines GP9, lettered for Michigan Southern, can be found working this short, shortline almost daily. The crew can be found spotting cars at Kraft-Heinz most mornings around 0800. Once done, they run the empties north to the yard for interchange with Norfolk Southern. We see them doing just that here, first at Drake Rd crossing with two cars in two. Then we see them pull north of the yard, and then line back for the main and run south back to Kraft-Heinz.
