💎 Title: Mystery Rocks From The Tuckasegee River | Iron Out Reveal Join 3 Grits & A Polish for an unexpected rock hunting adventure right near my home in Western North Carolina! I took a trip to the WCU Dam on the Tuckasegee River to see what kind of river treasures I could find. I quickly started pulling out a ton of heavy, mysterious black rocks. They caught my eye, but the thick black coating—which we later identified as Manganese Dioxide—made it impossible to see the mineral underneath! We took our buckets of finds home and decided to put them through a cleaning experiment. Watch as we soak the rocks in Iron Out to strip the manganese coating and reveal the hidden beauty. Did we find anything worthwhile? You'll have to watch to see the final, clean reveal! What We Did in this Video: Rock hunting and collecting at the Western Carolina University Dam (Tuckasegee River). Identifying the thick black coating as Manganese. The cleaning process: Soaking our rocks in Iron Out. Final reveal of the beautiful WNC river rocks and minerals!
