This webinar introduces students to FG214 | RM200 | GR220 Hidden Spaces, Hidden Narratives: Intersectionality Studies in Berlin, a study abroad course Dr. Heidi R. Lewis has offered to Colorado College students every summer since 2014 (except 2020 and 2021, due to travel restrictions resulting from COVID-19). Through multidisciplinary critical perspectives—namely Black and transnational feminisms and Critical Race Theory—this course examines myriad forms of subjugation and oppression that affect systemically and systematically vulnerable people and communities in Berlin, as well as the sometimes contentious but always advantageous contours of resistance and solidarity. The webinar covers student testimonies, Dr. Lewis' reasons for offering the course, the course description, the program fee, student lodging, mandatory activities, and the application process. In addition to viewing this webinar, interested students must also review the course FAQs on Dr. Lewis' website at www.heidirlewis.com. Other information about the course can also be found there.
