Please contact [email protected] About the Call for Science: Each year, the AAO-HNSF receives and reviews thousands of abstracts and proposals submitted by otolaryngologists and healthcare professionals. It is the goal to ensure the education programs offered at the AAO-HNSF Annual Meeting & OTO Experience are engaging, significant, relevant, and of high quality, leaving attendees feeling equipped with the knowledge, tools, and resources to advance patient care and implement real change within the otolaryngology-head and neck surgery community. Several topics were identified in a comprehensive gap analysis, and clear learning needs have been identified for each of these topics. Abstracts addressing one or more of these topics will be given special consideration during the review and selection process. Before submitting your proposal, please be sure to read the Submission Guidelines in their entirety, as they will help guide you through the criteria and requirements that are applicable to each of the submission categories. AAO-HNSF encourages submissions that promote gender diversity and include members of underrepresented communities, as well as topics relevant to diversity, equity, inclusion, and cultural competence. 00:00 – Panel Introductions 02:20 – What are the highlights of attending the Annual Meeting? 04:08 – How did you get to attend as a resident? 05:27 – Do you have any advice for trainees who want to attend the meeting? 06:11 – What are some of your favorite memories from past Annual Meetings? 07:32 – Will the 2022 meeting be in-person or virtual? 09:12 – Call for Science Submission Website 10:04 – Submission Guideline Document 10:40 – Gap Analysis 11:21 – How to Submit 15:25 – Scientific Abstract Types 17:07 – What’s it like to give a Scientific Oral Presentation? 18:38 – What are reviewers looking for in a scientific abstract? 20:15 – Scientific Poster Presentations 20:37 – Submitted science is embargoed to our journal publications 21:29 – Panel Presentations and Expert Lectures 22:27 – Difference between Panel Presentations and Expert Lectures 23:45 – How would you suggest submitters come up with ideas to present? 25:45 – Other land mines for submission? 28:50 – Simulation Submissions 29:27 – International Forum Submissions 30:29 – The Annual Meeting Program Committee 30:43 – Submission Specialty Tracks 31:37 – Questions?
