There are several out there and on in particular I got this idea from. However her video wasn't easy to find as it didn't seem to be tagged specifically for a Stihl MS 250. So for all the details, check out @Chickanic's video. Credit to her for the idea • Chainsaw is HARD TO START? Try this EASY T... I'm 1 posting this for myself in case I ever forget so I don't have to search and sit through videos. Also, again the few I've seen out there, talk about only yanking on the chord 2 times or so in choke mode, with my 250, that in of itself will probably flood it it won't start. Use the few little, short pulls to prime the system so far the past few days, now my 250 starts like a charm. This saw I pretty much haven't been able to use for the past 2 or 3 years as it never starts. Last year, I went to a dealer and purchased a new carb thinking it's because it sits too much. (I don't use ethanol gas.) It kind of worked starting like my other saws last year, but this year, again haven't been able to get it to start for over a month. Went to a Stihlership and asked what could possibly be wrong with this model of saw and why it's so hard. They only offered $50 to leave it and $100 an hour to find out what's wrong with it which is BS. (Place I purchased it from.) All they have ever said nobody ever has problems with the 250 which researching is BS. Anyway, the past couple of days was like hitting a small lottery in being able to get this chainsaw to start easy. I'm not sure how many saws I've had and NEVER had this problem with one. Even my 170, 362c and 462c, simple, easy to start at any time, sitting for a year. Hope this helps.
