Come join us, Mel & Caroline aka the TravelFlirts as we begin our 11 day transatlantic cruise from spectacular Lisbon, Portugal to Miami, US. Our 11 day adventure included stops at the exotic and mysterious Islands of the Azores, the chilled and laid back St. Thomas AVI, and a final stop at Taino bay on the beautiful lush tropical island of Dominican Republic. In this episode, we have our first port stop at the beautiful stunning Island of São Miguel, Ponta Delgada. We have booked a private tour with Azores Dream Tours, & after being met at the port we are whisked away to the first stop, Sete Cidades. High up in the green lush hills just a 15mins drive from the port we are taken aback by the sheer scale & beauty of the Lake and surround valley! Next, we move on to Parque Da Ribeira Dos Caldeirões. This stunning valley showcases waterfalls, rivers, ancient watermills, & lush vegetation. Onwards towards the town of Furnas, here we explore a volcanic Caldera complete with bubbling sulphur springs & have the opportunity to taste natural spring mineral waters:/ What an amazing Island!
