[4K] Chesapeake & Ohio 2699 Steam Photo Special

When Pere Marquette 2-8-4 Berkshires were slated to join the Chesapeake & Ohio Railroad, N-1 #1225 was on that list as #2569. While never receiving that number and ultimately heading to the scrap line, 1225 was saved for preservation and continues to operate today at the Steam Railroading Institute. Fast forward to 2026, as part of a special photo charter, 1225 was renumbered and relettered as past sister locomotive 2699, one of the few locomotives to receive a special "C&O Progress" logo. The mighty Berk was charged with pulling a matching passenger consist for this special occasion, marking an historic event for the 1225! For our first major event of 2026, we made the drive to Michigan for the first time and purchased a ticket to take part in what was arguably one of the best (and coldest) steam experiences we could have asked for!
