Dr Michael Perry: C.Diff Deep Dive

Dr Michael Perry is a Consultant Clinical Scientist working in the UK Anaerobe Reference Unit, based at Public Health Wales in Cardiff. His main area of research and development is the use of molecular methods and whole genome sequencing (WGS) to improve understanding of diseases caused by anaerobes to enable their effective prevention, patient management and outbreak investigation. He is the chair of the Wales C. difficile Infection Working Group and treasurer for the C. Diff Trust, a charity launched to the public in October 2025 to end the harmful impact of Clostridioides difficile infection and to advocate for patients.
