Armed Guard for Campus Safety Santa Barbara City College is the number one rated community college in the United States. Sitting atop 74 gorgeous acres with views of the Pacific and the city, it is a scene of great beauty, and it's a security nightmare. There are usually 2 or more security staff on campus, but currently they carry little more than bandaids and cell phones. According to the SBCC Annual Safety Report, "Security staff are instructed to respond, evaluate the situation, and assist in getting police and other help to the scene as quickly as possible." As it stands now, if there were a gunman on campus, the guards wouldn't have a weapon to protect the innocent. When every moment matters, a guard must be ready and able to save lives!
