This pouch is based on a free pattern by Robin Long of Robin Ruth Designs. You can find her original pattern and so much more here: https://www.robinruthdesign.com/free-... I modified it a little by using By Annie's Soft and Stable foam interfacing instead of batting, and making the project slightly bigger. I just like the structure and stability of foam interfacing. I also included some tips and tricks for dealing with the thickness of foam interfacing. Finally, because I quilted this on a domestic machine, not a long arm, I gave myself a bit of space by making the individual pieces slightly larger than required. More info on that in the video. This project came about because my newest obsession is the Mariner's Compass blocks and the strip-piecing method of creating them--no paper-piecing required! Robin's rulers and detailed instruction books for creating the Mariner's Compass are nothing shy of genius! You can purchase them here: https://www.robinruthdesign.com/robin... And no, I am not a representative of the company, nor has she paid me for any endorsement. I simply find her method incredible and inspiring. I suppose you could call me a new acolyte.
