Following the results from the Phase II OpACIN-neo trial (NCT02977052) assessing ipilimumab and nivolumab in melanoma, pathologic response rate was correlated to two-year survival rates. Irene Reijers, Netherlands Cancer Institute, Amsterdam, The Netherlands, describes the trial design and rationale of the following Phase II PRADO trial (NCT02977052), where patients with stage III melanoma therapeutic were given neoadjuvant ipilimumab and nivolumab. Patients who have achieved a major pathologic response in the index lymph node received follow-up, whereas patients with no response received a total lymph node dissection and adjuvant nivolumab or dabrafenib plus trametinib.
