See the next episode:    • #4 How Italian Village Life Changed U...   Watch the entire series:    • Say Ciao Italian Living   Elderberry/Sambucus Syrup Recipe Ingredients: 4l of water 3kg sugar 300ml of vinegar 8 lemons Preparation: Boil the water together with the sugar and the vinegar for 10-15 min. Put it aside for cooling. Separate the flowers from the stems, if needed remove the insects and other residuals, Cut the lemons into slices and put them along with the flowers into a big container. Pour in the cooled-down syrup and cover it, and put aside for 24-36 hours and stir the mixture from time to time. Filter the syrup with a clean cotton cloth, and boil it for another 10-15 min. Pour the boiling syrup into clean bottles and seal them. Turn the bottles upside down and cover them with a warm cloth to enhance the sealing effect.
