This is my final update and completion of my Apollo Command Module for the Finish it in February Group Build. I learned way too late that the kit is actually “correct” but for an older, ultimately unused NASA spacecraft, called the “Block I” design which was the victim of the ill-fated and tragic Apollo 1 launch pad fire; and which NASA quickly scraped and replaced with the “Block II” Design which we’re all familiar with. But, by that time Revell already had this Block I design completed and ready to go. Revell was a bit sneaky in their marketing as they used the familiar Block II design on the box art; kind of a bait and switch, if you will. So, at the end of the day, I guess what I've done is transformed (as best I could) the Block I service module into a Block II. Well, it was a fun scratch-building exercise if nothing else. Huge Thanks!! to Charlie Mac and Tim at Throttle Power for hosting this Group Build; my first; which I really enjoyed. I’ve been enjoying seeing everyone’s entries and look forward to seeing all the rest. Thanks, and as always - Happy Modeling!
