"Still Becoming" is a song about the quiet, lifelong work God is doing in each of us. It’s for the days when we look back and wish we had loved better, spoken more gently, or reflected Jesus more clearly — and for the grace that meets us anyway. God is not finished with us. Every day, He is shaping our hearts, refining our faith, and gently teaching us what it means to walk more closely with Him. Even when we feel like we’ve missed chances or fallen short, His work continues — patient, faithful, and full of mercy. This song is a reminder that sanctification is not instant, but it is intentional. We are still becoming — and God is still at work. “And I am sure of this, that He who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.” — Philippians 1:6 Verse 1 Every night I lay here knowing I could’ve loved a little more Held my tongue, showed more patience Walked like You instead of war I see the space between my calling And the way I chose today I meant well more times than not But I still missed the way Pre-Chorus I’m not hiding where I stumbled I’m just bringing it to You Chorus I fall short, Lord, I know I miss the mark more than I show I’m sorry for the times I fail For the good I left undone But I believe You’re changing me I’m not who I was before I’m still becoming who I’ll be By Your grace, not by my strength Verse 2 I replay the words I spoke too fast The moments I should’ve stayed Fear got loud and pride got stubborn And I chose the easy way Still You meet me in the quiet Not with anger, not with shame You say, “Rest now, I’m not finished” And You whisper my name Pre-Chorus I don’t bring You perfect endings Just a heart that wants to change Chorus I fall short, Lord, I know I miss the mark more than I show I’m sorry for the times I fail For the good I left undone But I believe You’re changing me I’m not who I was before I’m still becoming who I’ll be By Your grace, not by my strength Bridge I don’t stand on what I’ve done right Or the weight of what I’ve lost I lay it down here in the stillness At the foot of the cross Teach me how to walk tomorrow With a softer heart, new eyes You’re more patient than my progress You’re faithful through my nights Final Chorus I fall short, Lord, I know But I’m learning how to hope I’m sorry for the times I fail Still You never let me go I believe You’re shaping me Slow and holy, faithfully I’m still becoming who I’ll be In Christ, I’m not done yet Outro I’m not finished But I’m Yours #StillBecoming #GraceAndEmberMusic #ChristianMusic #Sanctification #BecomingLikeJesus #ChristianWorship #FaithJourney #ChristianEncouragement #IndieChristian #GodIsNotDone #SpiritualGrowth #RefiningFire #WalkingWithJesus #Philippians16 #GraceUponGrace #CCM #ContemporaryChristianMusic
