The 226th video of my train spotting adventures. ----- This video follows on from Chester, travelling via Transport for Wales along the restored Halton Curve north to Runcorn railway station. A small, 2-platform DfT Category C1 "Important Feeder" station, it was first built back in April 1869 by the London and North Western Railway, along with the section of the West Coast Mainline to Liverpool Lime Street, to create a more direct route from Crewe to Liverpool. - Nearby is the impressive Runcorn Railway Bridge, or Britannia/Ethelfleda Bridge, crossing the River Mersey. It was built around the same time between 1863 and 1868. To the stations immediate south is a branch-line connecting to the nearby Runcorn Docks and their freight sidings, especially for the movement of rubbish, recycling waste or otherwise. ----- Filmed on the: West Coast Mainline - Liverpool Branch Halton Curve (end of line) ----- Services seen: AWC) Services towards Liverpool Lime Street, Crewe, Stafford, Wolverhampton, Birmingham New Street, Birmingham International, Coventry, Rugby, Milton Keynes Central and London Euston. - LNR) Services towards Liverpool South Parkway, Liverpool Lime Street, Acton Bridge, Hartford, Winsford, Crewe, Stoke-on-Trent, Stafford, Wolverhampton and Birmingham New Street. - TFW) Services towards Liverpool South Parkway, Liverpool Lime Street, Frodsham, Helsby and Chester. ----- Trains seen: AWC) Class 390 Pendolino LNR) Class 350 Desiro WMR) Class 730 Aventra (test) TFW) Class 197 Civity FL) Class 66 DB) Class 66 GBRf) Class 66 ----- Please leave a like, comment or even subscribe if you enjoy my content.
