This video is all about the very popular long-tail cast on knitting method. It's probably the easiest and most common cast-on technique for beginners. It's very versatile and creates a lovely stretchy edge suitable for almost all projects. Here are the steps: Preparation: The ball should be on your left and a sizeable tail on your right. Wrap the yarn around your pinky finger twice, bring the yarn across the back of your hands, wrap it around your thumb once, and secure the tail between your ring and pinky finger Step 1: Insert the knitting needle from below through the loop around your thumb Step 2: Grab the yarn towards the index finger from above Step 3: Pull the yarn through Step 4: Let loose of the loop around your thumb Step 5: Tighten up the stitch Step 6: Pull the needle towards you to create another loop around your thumb Repeat steps 1-6 until you cast on the required number of stitches. And that's how to cast on knitting using the long tail cast on method.
