Turtleback Falls is a very popular waterfall in Western North Carolina. It is a popular spot for sliding down into a swimming hole during the summer months. It is also located just upriver from the very popular Rainbow Falls. Turtleback Falls is located within Gorges State Park which is located off of highway 281 (also called Whitewater Falls Road). The hike to Turtleback Falls is approximately 1.7 miles one way. It is mostly downhill so expect the trek back to the parking area to be uphill. It can be hot in the summer, so pack water and snacks and prepare for unexpected showers or storms to hit - especially in the afternoon. As with any waterfall, go early and you can avoid crowds. Most afternoons and weekends can become quite crowded. This video provides some detailed info and shows the section of the hiking trail between Rainbow Falls and Turtleback Falls. To get a detailed look at the first part of the hiking trail that takes you to Rainbow Falls, please visit my video on "How to Hike to Rainbow Falls" here: • How to Hike to Rainbow Falls | Gorges Stat... I have also included various footage of Turtleback Falls I have shot throughout different times of the year. This particular video was shot in September. The accompanying background music was created by me using FL Studio. I hope this video is informative and also enjoyable at the same time. Thanks for watching!
