Sofia, Bulgaria. Boyana Residence is a representative state complex with special status. It includes Building 1 or the ex-residence of the State Council of People's Republic of Bulgaria (non-elective institution preceding the institution of the President of the country during the rule of the Bulgarian Communist party and co-acting with the Government) which is presently housing the National Museum of History; Building 2, which is presently (as has always been) serving as housing complex with hotel functions for the use of the Bulgarian government; residential and utility buildings with limited access which fall under the jurisdiction of the supreme Bulgarian institutions and are under state security (Buildings 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8); rich park area. The residence is located at the foot of Vitosha Mountain National Park, south of Sofia Ring Road and close to three of the main boulevards of the capital -- Bulgaria Boulevard (which has been specially constructed to serve as quick connection between Boyana Residence and the centre of the city), Alexander Pushkin Boulevard and Buxton Brothers Boulevard.
