How to make a full size graphics card work with a Dell small form factor (SFF) computer CHALLENGES PSU is 255W - so CPU + GPU + the rest (motherboard, memory, fans, ssd) should not exceed this limit how to connect the GPU to the motherboard (as it does not fit into the SFF case) how to provide sufficient power to the GPU as the Dell SFF pcie 16x slot's output is limited to below 75w (or even less) NOTE: this will not work with GPUs which need more power (I guess above 140-150w), also depends on the CPU installed SPECS In the video there is a Dell Optiplex 7020 SFF with the following specs: CPU: intel i5 4570S -- 65W memory: 16GB ssd: 120GB The GPU is a ASUS DUAL GTX 1060 3GB -- 120W powered by pcie 16x slot (max 75w) + sata cable (hopefully it provides the rest approx 50w needed) PARTS The cables used (pcie riser 0:48 and sata to 6pin power 1:44) incl. brands and types are shown in the video. ADDITIONAL NOTES It is not shown in the video, but I confirm that it runs without issues, ran Unigine Valley and Superposition benchmarks on it so far The flickering on the screen on the end of the video is just on the recording (not visible in reality), I guess it is because it is a plasma TV I used instead of a monitor.
