On 9 September 2025 Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust was presented with the Myeloma UK Clinical Service Excellence Programme (CSEP) Award. Watch the video to hear from Dr Sally Keat, who led the accreditation process and patient Paul Silvester, who was among the first in the world to benefit from a new trojan horse therapy. This was thanks to the Royal Hallamshire Hospital's involvement in an early access scheme of the cutting-edge treatment. Myeloma is a devastating type of blood cancer which claims the lives of 3,000 people in the UK each year. It is especially hard to spot as the symptoms are often vague and dismissed as ageing or other minor conditions.
