We're thrilled to have you join us for another exciting update from Quail Corner. 🐦 In this episode, we have some significant changes and updates to share with you. Our quail family has been thriving, and we've been busy making improvements to ensure their comfort and our viewing pleasure. 1. Improved Enclosure One of the most significant changes we've made recently is the modification of our quail enclosure. We decided to add clear plastic to the front of the enclosure. This has proven to be a game-changer for us. Not only does it make it easier for us to observe and enjoy our quails, but it also helps contain the mess and prevent stray quail litter from spilling out. The clear front allows us to watch our quails go about their daily activities without disturbing them, providing a unique and up-close experience of these charming birds. 2. Group Merging Another exciting development is the merging of our two quail groups. In the past, we had two separate groups, the older quails and the younger ones. However, we decided it was time to bring them together as one big happy quail family. To achieve this successfully, we had to make some changes. First, we identified that the older male from our first hatch was displaying aggressive behavior. To ensure the well-being and harmony of the flock, we made the tough decision to remove him from the group. We've since taken steps to ensure his safety and are monitoring him separately. 3. Removing the Older Males To make the merging process as smooth as possible, we also had to address the presence of two males in the flock. As we mentioned earlier, the older male was removed due to his aggressiveness. Additionally, we decided to harvest the two males, which had been separated from the rest of the quails in the past. This was not only a practical decision but also a sustainable one. We're excited to harvest and enjoy these quails as a source of delicious, homegrown food. It's a way to appreciate the full circle of life and use the resources from our quail in a responsible and ethical manner. 4. Looking Ahead With these changes, we are eager to see how our quail flock grows and thrives together as one cohesive unit. By addressing the issues and making these improvements, we're ensuring a safe and harmonious environment for our quails.
