I'm releasing this one a day early because it's so good, and for many people, Forgiveness Vespers is still ahead of us. And that's the thing - this is a beautiful reflection on why we do what we do on this day. Kalo agona! -Theodore About Warrior Monk Society: Warrior Monk Society is very much a work in progress - more of a hazy idea slowly coming into full resolution. It's something I've been working on for awhile to help those of us in the world understand the real battles we're in, and how to fight them with courage and resolve. I spent two years in a monastery in central Oklahoma during a time of life upheaval. On Day 1, a Kurdish/Russian monk asked if I'd like to do some of the readings. I was shocked - you could just do that? Turns out you could, which led to two years of reading for the monks at trapeza and occasionally during liturgy. Turns out I liked it, and despite the quality of this video, I'm actually half-decent at it. I'm still trying to figure out what to do with this love/skill, but I know that the reading I did at the monastery, which basically saved my life, will help other people going through it right now.
