This 2-door convertible was built on GM's A-Body platform that was shared with models such as the popular Chevrolet Chevelle. There's no question that 1965 was a banner year for these intermediate sized Oldsmobiles- refreshed styling and more engine options were added as executives at GM began to respond to consumer demand for improved performance leading into the muscle car era. This car was a “barn find" according to the seller, who subsequently put it through a frame off restoration. Painted in “Viper Red" PPG with a new Black power convertible top, this F-85 Cutlass leaves nothing to desire from a curb appeal perspective. The added body-colored cowl on the hood, side-piped exhaust and Keystone 15" wheels with BF Goodrich radials make a statement that this Olds is more than just looks. This Cutlass convertible doesn't have a matching numbers engine under the hood, but you'll be more than happy with the choice the builder made in a 455 CID motor that featured in some of Oldsmobile's best known muscle cars from 1968 to the mid-70's. The rebuilt engine comes with power steering, power brakes (4-wheel disc) and plenty of chrome dressing up the appearance. Meanwhile, gears are selected on a Turbo-350 3-speed automatic transmission that was also rebuilt. Inside the F-85 it's a delightful mix of old and new; a restored stock dashboard with column shift transmission and AM radio are pure old school while built-in aftermarket Vintage R-134 air conditioning and cruise control keep things convenient on any journey. Similarly, new comfortable Black leather bucket seats with lap belts and side bolsters have been installed for both driver and passenger.
