B.C. government reaches housing partnership agreement with MST Nations – September 19, 2024

British Columbia Premier David Eby announces that the province will be partnering with the Musqueam, Squamish and Tsleil-Waututh (MST) Nations to provide first-time middle-income homebuyers the opportunity to purchase up to 2,600 apartments under the Attainable Housing Initiative (ATI). The unit purchases will be partially financed by the government, allowing them to be sold at 60% of the market rate, with the remaining 40% to be paid back by the buyer after 25 years or upon the sale of the home. The premier is joined at the news conference in Vancouver by Wayne Sparrow (Musqueam chief), Wilson Williams (Squamish general councillor), Curtis Thomas (Tsleil-Waututh councillor), and Ken Sim (Vancouver mayor).
