Trip to Lapland Sweden

Roadtrip to Swedish Lapland in 2019. We drove from The Netherlands to Lapland with Jokkmokk as our final destination. Hunting Northern Lights to see the Aurora Borealis, seeing reindeer and moose along the way. The winterly driving conditions in Sweden became more and more challenging as we drove north. Sleeping in our Tentipi CP9 tent in Stockholm as a first night stop in Sweden on this trip and sleeping in a B&B close to Kramfors for the second night in Sweden. The trip was dangerous and challenging due to arctic road conditions. Our car was a Toyota Hilux 4x4 with Continental Winter Contact winter tyres without spikes. Driving on icy roads without spikes is quite tricky and because of this we had to be very careful. Our advice would be to always use tyres with spikes if you head up to the arctic region of Scandinavia. With us on this trip was our Husky lady Loppa. She was 11 years and had a very good time. We prepared ourselve with warm merino underwear, winter boots and warm coats. Hilight of this trip were the crossing of the Arctic Circle and visiting the famous Jokkmokk marknad.
