"The Road To Jesus" Luke

It’s easy to feel discouraged or disoriented when life doesn’t go the way we expected. Often, this is because—even as believers—we don’t see clearly how God’s Word holds together, or how Christ is present in all of it. In this sermon we look at a scene of the resurrected Lord from the Gospel of Luke: “And beginning with Moses and all the Prophets, he interpreted to them in all the Scriptures the things concerning himself.” —Luke 24:27 (ESV) Like the disciples on the road to Emmaus, we can be “slow of heart to believe” all that the Scriptures have spoken. But, Jesus doesn’t dismiss their confusion—He opens the Scriptures. As we move from the Gospel of Mark we’re not moving away from Christ, but tracing the very road that leads to Him.
