On 2015 I returned from my overseas assignment, and found this 2014 super low mileage Monster 1200S, which I called “the Duchess”. This was the most powerful (145HP) bike I’ve had. By the time it was a very respectable number for naked, not so much compared to superbikes but I don’t care about that anymore. It was also the first bike I had with ABS, traction control and those fancy-shmansy electronics. The stock exhaust sounded nice, but of course didn’t last long before I changed it for a Remus one and man, that bike sounded good. Also a twin engine, this one at 90 degrees had a nice power delivery although it liked more to be revved, so it could be more temperamental at low speeds around town, specially in sport mode. Also, it always felt heavy, like I had to put more effort to make it turn, perhaps I was spoiled by the McQueen and her shorter wheelbase. With the Duchess I took more time to make shorter trips to take pictures, also got a GoPro and started recording some rides and took pictures from the footage. This bike also had a few mods that really enjoyed doing and posting some of them in Youtube, got a few views and like to think these were useful for some other enthusiasts like me. This bike defined a few of the traits/mods that became a must do on the next ones until now…
