6/23 - 6/24/21: On the evening of June 23rd, I arrived in Bluefield, WV along the NS Pocahontas District, the former N&W Mainline to Norfolk, VA. I was immediately greeted by a surprise: NS Track Geometry Train 904, "The Brick," being pulled a lone SD70ACe. After catching 904, I saw two more coal trains before the end of the day. On June 24th, I left Bluefield heading east, catching a few coal & unit trains before stopping just outside of Roanoke, VA. Here I caught hotshot 234 and an outbound mixed freight 393, as well as the Roanoke NS deadlines. Continuing north along the Roanoke District, I caught NS V84 and NS 15T heading south, as well as got some footage of the old N&W CPLs along this line. Later in the afternoon I arrived at Shenandoah Junction to catch Amtrak's Capitol Limited, two southbound NS freights (one with NS 4005), and a MARC Commuter train. After this, I headed to Harpers Ferry, WV where I caught a few final CSX & MARC trains in some great lighting. The last catch of the day was local D791 with a YN2 GP38-2 trailing third. A great way to end an awesome day!
