THE PROCESS OF MAKING A JADE BANGLE FROM A JADE STONE PART 1

This is a raw video of our journey to the Mandalay Jade market where we met a very nice young jade shop owner who bought jade stones to be made into bangles. I'm sorry the video sound is very bad because of the loud cutting machines. In a nutshell, he brings his stones to be trimmed enough to decide how to rough cut basic bangle shapes. Anything can go wrong along the way and he could lose his investment in a second. It could be many variables such as a slip of the grinding saw or the cut revealing fractures that requires that he alters how to use his stone or altering the bangle placement. Mr. Win was very cool, but i could sense he was silently very stressed. One piece revealed multiple fault lines, making the stone unusable. He threw it away. This is called jade gambling.
