Around the table with Rupert are Stephen Jay Gould, Oliver Sacks, Daniel Dennett, Freeman Dyson and Stephen Toulmin. Hosted by Dutch journalist Wim Kayzer, A Glorious Accident was filmed in the Netherlands by the VPRO and produced by Nellie Kamer. The series, comprising interviews and a roundtable discussion, was shown in 1993 on Dutch television and in the United States on WNET TV in 1994. It was a huge hit in Holland and the companion book was a number one best seller there. In an interview about it, Rupert said, "It was a media phenomenon, and it was the most fruitful of anything I've ever done in terms of the response I've gotten.
