TODAY’S READINGS First Reading — Is 49: 3, 5-6 Psalm — Ps 39: 2, 4 7-10 Second Reading — 1 Cor 1: 1-3 Gospel Reading — https://youtube.com/live/2lHcfDvIcIM Behold the Lamb of God John the Baptist turns our attention away from himself and toward Jesus, proclaiming Him as “the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world.” In these words, we hear an echo of sacrifice and redemption. The Lamb points to Jesus’ self-giving love, offered for the salvation of all. He does not come with earthly power, but with humility, obedience, and mercy, laying down His life for the healing of humanity. John also speaks of the Holy Spirit descending and remaining upon Jesus. This reveals Jesus as the Son sent by the Father, anointed by the Spirit, and entrusted with the mission of bringing new life to the world. John’s role is not to draw attention to himself, but to bear witness, guiding others to recognize and follow Christ.
