Hardap Governor Riaan McNab has urged newly elected Hardap regional council members to move away from boardroom meetings and focus more on working directly in communities. He said tangible action is essential to enhance service delivery and rebuild public trust in the region. Governor McNab made the remarks at the opening of the induction workshop that is currently underway in Windhoek. The workshop aims to train newly elected councillors on their roles and responsibilities. "Honesty must take centre stage to unlock bottlenecks, and the theme of 'boots on the ground' should apply in your respective constituencies, where implementation speaks louder than lengthy and unnecessary meetings in boardrooms." McNab warned that the 8th administration led by President Netumbo-Nandi Ndaitwah is uncompromising on service delivery, and failure is therefore not an option. "Our people demand improved access to housing, infrastructure, land servicing, water, sanitation, and economic opportunities, and rightly so. As leaders, we must respond with urgency, innovation, and measurable results. This region must position itself as a reliable partner in achieving national development objectives. Service delivery delays, weak coordination, and poor accountability can no longer be tolerated. We must move decisively from plans and resolutions to implementation and impact." He further said political leadership, regional management, local authorities, and key stakeholders must work together to place the region's development above politics. #NBCNews #nbcdigitalnews #nbcDSTV282 #nbcGOtv20 #nbcPlusApp
