Exploring the Inferno Prone Shacks at Isla Puting Bato Tondo Manila Philippines. Isla Puting Bato in Tondo Manila Philippines was slowly built over the years above a rock jetty and grew into the informal settlement that it is today. Most of the homes are made from light flammable materials, which make these inferno prone shacks in Isla Puting Bato a complete disaster in the making! There was a recent fire just least year, and this happens more often than it should. What is being done about it? I am not sure, but we visited the place and it seems like they are almost fully recovered from the recent fire, but the materials still remain the same. There seems to be some variations of wealth within the community, and for those who have a little more money, they are able to build their homes with concrete. While exploring the inferno ruins we did see some concrete structures, unfortunately this wasn't seen for the majority of the homes.
