This chapter explores the various tics and stims ( not all of them, as each autistic person will have their own unique stims and tics) that can manifest for an autistic person's interaction with the world around them. Often certain tics and stims can be created as part of a routine. This video gives some examples of stims used in certain routines and why they are helpful for the autistic person. Stims can be a direct response to stimuli in the environment. It be visual, audible, tactile. or through taste and mouth stimulations. They play an essential role for the autistic person to help them process stimuli and allow it to filter through to their central systems . I give an example of a routine and how it is created and how other activities can become a part of a bigger routine. #HowdoIsupportmyautisticchildwithroutines? #Whyareroutinesoimportanttpmyautisticson? #supportingroutines #autistic #actuallyautistic #askanautistic
