Three days later, Stars general manager Jim Nill announced that Seguin would undergo surgery on December 5th to repair a left side FAI (femoral acetabular impingement) and the left side hip labrum. The press release stated that Seguin was expected to miss four-to-six months. Seguin was enjoying a fantastic start to the 2024-25 season, scoring 20 points (9 goals, 11 assists) in 19 games and a stellar +14 rating, while averaging 16:13 of ice time; his 1.05 points-per-game average was his highest in a decade. Recently, Seguin has been skating non-contact drills with the team and he has now been cleared to ramp up his activity as he closes in on returning to action.
